The EDOX© document server delivers scalability, color quality and maximum productivity across a wide range of print engines. EDOX’s open architecture combines EFI’s state-of-the-art technology with custom selectable processors to create tailored solutions that grow to meet businesses’ needs. The products cater to graphic artists, publishers, advertising agencies, commercial print shops, and pre-press businesses.
EDOX Lite offers open color management, easy of use, and continuity across the enterprise for workgroup print servers. The solution also can be optimized as a high-performance server for midrange print engines.
EDOX Full comes with everything in the Lite version but includes additional software for midrange and high-end production print engines. The product offers high-speed networking communication, processing, printing and continuous tone colored pages, and advanced job management capabilities.
Feature Highlights
- Flexible device drives for variety of printers. EDOX offers device drives for the Cannon CLC 1140/60/80 printers, HP 5000 wide format printers, and BJ-W9000 wide format printers.
- Brilliant color. The Colordox Lite suite provides powerful tools that bring flexibility and control to the user. Color Profiler Manager produces consistent color across devices, while the Color Preferences software allows users to manage the color behavior of printers. Soft Proofing also provides color-corrected previews of RIPped jobs.
Colordox Full includes additional color features for advanced print jobs. Spot-On* with Substitute Color provides precise matches to colors. Paper simulation* fine-tunes the tint of simulated paper colors. Halftone manager* enables users to control halftone characteristics in offset printing, while separation processing* provides a way to inspect how color separations interact. In addition, TIFF/IT with Hot Folders allows users to accurately proof pre-RIPped jobs. - Powerful job management capabilities. EDOX provides enhanced functionality in account validation*, job ticketing* and pre-and post job blocking*. These features allow users track individual, department and client usage, attach additional instructions to jobs, and define when tasks are completed.
- Superior scanning technology. EDOX scanning software allows for multi-page duplex documents to be scanned using the glass or a copier document feeder.
