Stunning, precise and predictable color with Fiery ColorWise technology
EFI’s Fiery ColorWise® technology uses adaptive algorithms — optimized for ceramic tile decoration and based on spectral measurements of actual tile production conditions — to keep improving color accuracy and prediction over time.
Accurately simulate final print appearance, right in Photoshop
Fiery ColorWise® technology creates an RGB file that allows designers to view an accurate simulation of the final production conditions on screen, without the need for plugins or cumbersome editing of multi-channel files. Easily apply different print conditions or print bar setups and see the final result, right in Photoshop. So you can be sure you can achieve all the colors displayed in the final print condition.
Use low-cost and light-weight prototyping on paper
Predict the final tile decoration, independent of production location and equipment, with quick turnaround of accurate, low-cost and light-weight tile prototyping on inkjet paper proofs. You can use centralized or distributed inkjet proofing of final color appearance, with the highest color accuracy and state-of-the-art consistency control.

Create best-in-class tile decoration with the lowest ink consumption
After the design stage is completed, Fiery proServer creates a final print file for the actual Cretaprint engine and production conditions. Fiery ColorWise® accuracy means you no longer have to make trial-and-error file adjustments on the production line to match colors. This can cut your R&D process from days to minutes.
Applying a different Fiery ColorWise® profiles gives you the flexibility to move tile production to another Cretaprint engine or modify production conditions such as ink, glaze, print resolution, tile body or kiln temperature.
Automated special-effect tile decoration
The current process to create special-effect designs for ceramic tiles is very complex and time consuming. Besides 3D scanning equipment, it often requires intensive manual effort, which delays tile production time and increases the production cost. Despite this, the special-effect channel does not always follow the patterns of the tile design, and the final result is a dull-looking product.
EFI Fiery technology replaces this expensive, time-consuming and inaccurate process by automatically generating a special-effect channel. Based on algorithms that analyze regular 2-dimensional tile designs, the creation of the special-effects channel requires no additional prepress work. The Fiery proServer special-effect channel exactly follows the patterns of the original tile design, resulting in superb output quality while reducing the production cost.

Dynamic gamut expansion
Printing vivid and saturated colors on tiles with dark glazes can be very challenging as dark glazes allow only limited color gamut output.
An easy way to expand the color gamut is to print a white ink layer over the dark-color glaze, however this requires a significant amount of expensive white ink. EFI offers a smarter and more cost-effective solution that offers superior output quality while minimizing the use of both white and color inks.
Fiery technology analyses the tile design and, depending on both design and glaze colors, applies only the amount of white ink that is needed where it is needed. Fiery proServer saves ink in two ways:
- By applying only the amount of white ink that is needed, the proServer uses less white ink compared to manually placing 100% white ink
- The dynamic white channel requires less color coverage in order to achieve the same colors

With the Fiery proServer for Cretaprint, you can reproduce realistic images with minimum white usage. Fiery proServer automatically generates a dynamic white ink channel that applies white ink only where it is needed and in the amount that is needed (left image). This uses significantly less ink than placing 100% white manually in the design (right image).
